D. I. S. C. O.

School days are the best of your life (apparently) so what better way to spend a saturday night than reliving those times at the School Disco. But this time the skirt was shorter, the shirt was tighter and there wasn't a single royal blue v neck jumper in sight.

Anyone for a chut?

Sandra, V, Ali and me

I was able to truly reminisce on the Hetton Comp days when I bumped into another Compa on the dance floor (who was in the year below but I have no idea who he is). What are the odds of a) bumping into someone from Hetton in London and b) actually talking to that person when there were at least 600-700 other people in the place. I was disappointed he wasn't wearing the blue and gold striped tie and crested blazer but school days certainly came crashing back with some good old Bowes/Lambton House rivalry.

Santiago de Compostela 12-15 May 2007

Have just returned from 3 days in some random city in northern Spain. Saw the Ryanair flight for £25 and thought hey why not. It turned out to be a really good trip even though it never stopped raining.

News spreads fast in SDC. The locals obviously aren't used to seeing tourists, especially not two blonde girls, one of which is Australian. By the time we finished dinner on the first night we were celebrities in the city, so much so that we even got our picture taken for the local newspaper. We managed to find a group of locals who showed us where to party in style. So Lady V and Lady K of Limehouse and our entourage painted the town red.

However, we weren't the only celebrities in town that night. We bumped in to Danny De Vito just outside the cathedral (or maybe not).

Danny De Vito (centre) and Vanessa - or was it just the cerveza goggles??

Our hotel was inside the main shopping centre which you could wander around at anytime of the day or night. At 5.30am arriving back to the hotel after one too many cerveza's we decided to do a bit of window shopping.

Sore feet will not stop Vanessa looking at the shops

"Hello little fishies"

Roughly translated to mean "not for children, adults only"

We did manage to fit a few other things in to the weekend other than shopping and drinking vino and cerveza's and here is the photo evidence to prove it:

(Taken while walking between a shop and a pub)

This is the Cathedral of Santiago which is meant to be really famous and something to do with the Pilgrimage of St James but we didnt waste valuable shopping time to find out the history.

All in all it was a good trip, somewhere not too touristy and where we could sample the local produce - la pulpo, tarta da santiago and........

....Boob cheese

All that jazz!

Went to see Chicago last week.
So I'm not repeating anything from Vanessa's blog (and because I'm too lazy to type anything myself) have a look:

The Hatch

The sun was shining, the sky was blue (ish) so on saturday night in true north eastern style we rounded up the family and had dinner al fresco. It may have been freezing but hey at least we got to pose in the new African Thatch. While we enjoyed the wine the dogs were left to entertain themselves

Awww, so cute......
